Conceptual Framework

Artwork: Andy Goldsworthy created environmental artworks and his artworks symbolizes the beauty of the nature and the negative that has happened to the environment. He used natural sources to create his artwork. He did not use any handmade source such as glue, stables, chainsaw etc. Andy wanted to be natural and show how amazing natural source can turn into special. He used natural materials (such as flowers, mud, ice, leaves, twigs, pebbles, boulders, snow, thorns, bark, grass and pine cones). Much of his work is made outside and is meant to be temporary. He took professional photos of his artwork because his artwork doesn’t last long and he wanted to show the world his artwork and the message of his artwork.

Audience: The audience who reflect Andy Goldsworthy artworks gave them mixed of emotions and thoughts of the artwork that he has created. Some people thought his artworks was trying to express his feelings about the environment and how beautiful nature can be. The feelings that audience felt were confused, mixed emotions, happiness, disappointed in themselves or the people and amazed. Andy Goldsworthy wanted to show the audience in a creative way to express how the environment felt and the beauty behind it. He thought that if he shows the artworks in different ways people get different ideas and emotions. He wanted to tell his audience that the environment needs our help to protect them and a lot of people don’t see the beauty in the nature.

World: Most of his artworks represents the beauty of the nature, how we are treating the environment, how nature respond to us and what nature did for us. He wanted to express how his artwork have a powerful message. His main message is we should take care of our environment, to see it’s real beauty and handmade destroys the nature. He said “it’s not healthy that we use so much handmade objects instead of using natural source.” Back in the days everyone used natural source, now everyone used chemicals and non-natural source. The non-natural source is damaging the environment and we start to have more global problems. He shows the world that his artworks is giving a sign of what’s happening to our environment.

Artist: Andy Goldsworthy has always wanted to express about the nature and use natural sources. He used a lot of natural sources and created artworks. He also wanted to show the beauty of it and what are the impacts of the environment such as population, feelings of the trees, bad habits, the beauty, the colours and patterns in the nature etc. He took professional photos because the artwork he created don’t last forever. He made it to express the nature and how we should keep it before its gone forever.
